Ria Curley: Bio

Ria Curley

Singer/songwriter, Ria Curley, is the first-born of six siblings originally from Central New York.

Ria's experiences to date have included...

having 22 of her songs (music and lyrics) published by WARNER-CHAPPELL MUSIC;

receiving New York City airplay on CD101.9 & WBLS with her smooth r&b/jazz CD, "RIA" "take me";

being interviewed as a guest artist on WBLS' "QUIET STORM" with The Whispers & Vaughn Harper;

singing background for Patti Austin on the JOAN RIVERS SHOW;

acting and singing in various commercials and soap operas, including Roy Rogers, Hardees, Ford, 800-FLOWERS, Guiding Light and Loving;

working as Associate Executive Producer on a Grammy-nominated Frank Sinatra CD compilation;

and even teaching JIMMY STEWART the kick line finale for the "Night of 100 Stars" finale at RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL.

Prior to moving to Saratoga Springs, NY in 2003, Ria performed her original songs at numerous New York City area venues, including the Meadowlands Race Track, CBGB's 313 Gallery, China Club, Wilson's and The Bitter End. In Saratoga, Ria performs at The Inn At Saratoga and Morrissey's and has enjoyed sitting in at One Caroline, Bailey's, Panza's and Gaffney's.

Ria just recorded a "lazy-swing" jazz tune called "Summertown" for a Saratoga charity compilation album ("Saratoga Pie") produced by Grammy-winner Joel Moss, and Charlie Eble, and featuring some of Saratoga's best musical talent. Ria is presently working on an album of jazz standards and writing new songs for a melodic rock/r&b album to come out next year. She is also co-writing with her brother, Zaab, who lives in Paris, and hoping to record a family album with Zaab and her 4 sisters (Colleen Prossner, Laura Pendergast, Heidi Kline, and Gretchen Kurtz) one of these days - soon!

In her free time, Ria dreams of singing a duet with Michael McDonald and riding around on the back of a giant sea turtle in the Galapagos Islands. :)
